Polishing the Presentation of
Boutique Coffee Specialists

Overview

 

Nespresso engaged Prep People to communicate their chic new uniform designed by Alexandra Poenaru, and to set a new standard for grooming and personal presentation for the Coffee Specialists and full Boutique team.

 

Objectives

  • Design custom hair and makeup styles that reflect the Nespresso brand

  • Deliver hands-on grooming workshops to boutique personnel nationally

  • Provide ongoing access to grooming education through online training modules

  • Create consistency and confidence across all front-line team members

  • Visually communicate the new uniform to Nespresso Boutique team Nationwide

 

Approach

 

Prep People developed a tailored presentation framework for the Nespresso brand. This included the design of sleek, wearable hair and makeup styles that complemented Nespresso’s minimalist uniforms and contemporary boutique interiors.

The rollout began with a nationwide roadshow, where Prep People delivered engaging, practical grooming workshops at boutique locations. These sessions provided staff with tools, techniques, and real-time coaching to help elevate their personal presentation to match Nespresso’s brand promise.

To ensure long-term success, Prep People also developed a series of online training resources, giving team members ongoing access to refresher content throughout the year.

Prep People also produced a launch video made in Nespresso’s luxurious flagship store in Sydney’s premier retail district Pitt St, to showcase the new Uniform and instruct the coffee specialists how to wear and care for the smart suiting with various options for different positions within the boutique.

Outcomes

  • Consistent national standard: All boutique teams adopted a cohesive and polished look aligned with the brand’s luxury image

  • Increased confidence and pride: Staff reported feeling more professional, empowered, and proud to represent Nespresso

  • Sustainable learning: Online training resources ensured knowledge retention and ongoing team motivation

  • Brand alignment: Visual presentation of staff now reinforces the premium, detail-focused experience expected in Nespresso boutiques

Nespresso’s commitment to excellence extends beyond the cup. Through their collaboration with Prep People, they ensured that every Boutique Coffee Specialist reflects the brand’s sophisticated aesthetic creating a seamless experience that delights customers through both service and style.

I had the pleasure of working with Laurel Brown from Prep People during my time at both Gucci and Nespresso, where we worked together on national programs designed to elevate brand presentation, customer experience and team engagement across Australia. At Gucci, Laurel partnered with us through the development of a new Grooming Policy and Presentation Standards. She led a national roadshow of workshops, engaging retail teams and managers through hands-on, tailored training. Additionally, I engaged Laurel at Nespresso to deliver a National Grooming Program and Online Training aligned with the launch of our new uniforms.
